I can understand that very well. However, the List is not only a conlang
forum, but also a bunch of people who happen to know each other, at least
by means of e-mail. In this context I think someone should have the right
every now and then to make a personal statement if s/he feels like it. To
me this is not about politics, unless one would interpret my current
message as "list politics" as well.

That's a matter of taste! I'm not much of a conculturer, but in so far as I
do something in the field, there is usually a prominent political component
attached to it (con-politics?). I admit that it is not the same thing,
though...
