HELP: New computer

BlankOn Monday, I am due to get a new computer; it will still be a Windows
machine, but with all the latest bells and whistles. One important
difference, it will have MS Word rather than Corel WordPerfect. The problem
is that everything I've written (and saved on floppies) is in WP...will
there be a problem when I load them into the new one??
Anything else I should look out for? Suggestions? The friend who talked me
into this seems to know what he's doing, and will be present, holding my
hand, at the baptism......
