I've got PfaEdit on Linux (although I've not used it much), and if
it's the same program you should be able to make one of your fonts
into a Unicode version by going to Element > Font Info > Encoding >
ISO 10646-1. Then put your characters in the appropriate locations
and save it. I mean, it looks like this should work.
As for entering them... I've no clue as to what's possible with OS X
and Word, but at worst there are various Unicode editors which present
different input methods for different scripts, and I'm sure that such
are available for your platform.
