The Syriac - derivative of Aramaic - is a long /a/ postposed.  malkaa - the
king; malkthaa - the queen.  bar - son of, braa - the son; bath - daughter
of, bthaa - daughter of.

But no, I don't actually know Aramaic - BTW, does anyone know of a good book
or web site for Aramaic?  Not Syriac, which the Assyrians call Aramaic :),
but Aramaic from the time it became an international trade language to the
time the Palestinian Talmud was compiled and the Targumim were translated.
(After that time it became the language of Christian Middle East culture,
carrying that culture down through a number of interesting times, up to the
present where it is still in use, both in homes and as a literary medium.)
