The grammar for Brithenig is based on old Romance/Vulgar Latin paradigms. These paradigms follow the sound changes of Brithenig's GMD. Certain verb classes, ie the subjunctive, have fossilized in Brithenig due to a comparative trend happening in Welsh *here*. Some old Celtic words have survived into Brithenig, but for the most part the word stock is Romance. I would guess that for a lot of stuff Wenedyk could be free to borrow from Old Slavonic and contemporary neighbouring languages. - andrew. -- Andrew Smith, Intheologus hobbit@griffler.co.nz alias Mungo Foxburr of Loamsdown http://hobbit.griffler.co.nz/homepage.html The tribe need a father who is afraid only of ceasing to love them well. - James K.
