I would rate the two books equally. I'm more interested in the languages of the "mixed" kind, and that book has the advantage (from my point of view) of not relying on any sources in Spanish. (I can manage French quotations better.) "Mixed" is even shorter (103pp of actual text). In short, the books are much alike, and preference would depend on which set of languages you want to read about. I should mention that I had occasion to quote something (about Volapuk) from "Mixed" on this list a while ago, and someone disputed the accuracy of Libert's statement. Doug
