Here in california, voters decided to disallow bilingual education in
school because they felt kids weren't learning English. One of the bits
about the law was if a teacher taught in any language other than English
they could get into trouble. There was a loophole to the law though, since
you could have bilingual classes if enough parents petitioned for one.
