Yep. And not all cultural studies are as you put it:
>Oh, dear. Cultural studies generally makes me livid. Can I
get this in the essentials?? "Post-structuralism is essentially the
misapplication of an outmoded theory of linguists to everything."<
There are so many kinds ::eyes light up:: of cultural studies and to
lump them with the all the tired, old neo-Marxists & neo-Chompskians is
rather like throwing away a high-quality textbook just cuz the
authors/editors don't all have "comfortable ideas & opinions" or that 1/3 the
book is blather & 2/3 is great-to-out-fikkin'-standin'.
