In a country where you have to state your "race" (whatever that may mean) in
any administrative document, I guess not.
France has a law "informatique et libertés" normally giving the layman absolute
control about what's recorded about him/her in any database (especially the
right to have everything about him deleted), but in practice I don't know if
this law works very well.
Not meant to offend anyone of course.
