Well, they are named after their new city/country. Sorry if what i wrote
implied otherwise ;).

Well, what happened was that AC decided that if they couldn't get water
from Montreiano rivers, they'd just get it from the rivers north of
Montrei (since AC surrounds Montrei). However there was one major flaw,
they couldn't go around Montrei, because it would be incredibly expensive
to route the pipes along the mountains. So, a deal was worked out and they
built a canal, after being gouged for it by the Montreianos to build it
through their country. It was much cheaper this way, but it still cost
them a pretty penny to do this.
Montrei profited big time, but AC was still able to water the growing city
of Los Angeles.
