Most remarkable to me is that this question had not been raised before ; ).
It is boring to see people talking in an unknown language, even if it adds
some spice to the list, even if for some it gives the impetus do learn the
language...
I liked to read some french, indeed... just because I can understand most of
it. Maybe if we set english as our main language, and others needing
gloss/translation... then it would encompass self-translation (?!) problems
and our conlangs excepts too, and everyone would be comfortable somehow.
