Six years of compulsory schooling... in the US, I think it's ten years (one
can drop out of high school in the 10th grade if he's 16 years of age, in
most states).
But in Techia, primary education is compulsory from age 7 to 40. Then after
that, the student becomes a _t'âliv_, an apprentice student, in either the
military or civil service (if one wants a government career), a religious
seminary, or various trades, and that might last to age 100. Such secondary
training is optional (and usually free) but all able-bodied and able-minded
Techians are REQUIRED to work (or study/train).
Techians do typically live to be 800-900 years of age however...
