Yankee, n. 1. Outside the U.S., any American. 2. In the Southern
U.S., any Northerner. 3. In the Northern U.S., any New Englander.
4. In New England, any Vermonter. 5. In Vermont, any Vermonter who
eats pie for breakfast. 6. Among Vermonters who eat pie for breakfast,
one who eats it with a knife.
That should settle the issue.
