American mass-market beers are way too bubbly (formerly, some were less so
than others, but the non-bubbly ones seem to have been eliminated by
corporate mergers etc.). Personally I favor Heineken (its Indonesian clone
Bintang Baru was good too) or Foster's. French bière, at least 50 years ago,
was not only _too_ flat, but also on the sweet side; likewise the Italian.
But good heavens, why drink beer when you're in France or
Italy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
