??? I do not understand this. I'm not sure how to pronounce French <oei> -
don't think I've seen a French word with that trigraph. Or maybeI have? My
mind is probably asleep - it's the summer holidays... ;)

And telling me 'oei is pronounced like X letter or letter combination in X
word in X language' is not going to help - see my previous posts.

So please, please, please, learn X-Sampa!!! Or learn what 'voiceless velar
fricative' (and the like) means!!! For one to participate in a discussion
that's meaningful here on phonetics, it is absolutely necessary that one
understand these terms and symbols. Stop closing your mind to education, as
Christophe said!! I'm only 14, and don't have access to linguistics books,
but still (with the aid of Mark Rosenfelder's LCK part one:

learned what terms like 'velar' and 'fricative' mean (well... some of
them... some of the vowel terminology is confusing...).

So please, at least, make an attempt. It'll help you *alot* in the long run
on Conlang knowing X-Sampa and phonetic terms.
