The idea was that there are all-asomtavruli, all-nusxuri, all-mxedruli, asomtavruli/nusxuri, and rare asomtavruli/mxedruli documents, but none that combine nusxuri and mxedruli, so it was safe to unify them. But Michael was able to find ecclesiastical documents (asomtavruli/nusxuri and all-nusxuri) with mxedruli annotations. The great majority of Georgians cannot read anything but all-mxedruli.

That's in the pipeline for Unicode 4.1 too, also as a result of Michael's persuasion. -- All Norstrilians knew what laughter was: John Cowan it was "pleasurable corrigible malfunction". http://www.reutershealth.com --Cordwainer Smith, Norstrilia jcowan@reutershealth.com
