I thought boys who were going to become gay were supposed to prefer the
company of the girls? (I never really cared either way... by grade
three, my group of friends (not counting me) reflected my siblings (not
counting me): two boys and two girls. Never noticed that coincidence
till now :) But then, I Am Not Representative Of Society At Large.)

I was *forced* to learn to play the piano. At primary school, we had to
learn the recorder. At my first secondary school, we had to learn the
recorder and keyboard; I also briefly learnt the sax. At my second
secondary school, we had to learn the keyboard. (And of course, learning
the keyboard directly transfers to the piano.) What's so
non-conservative about playing the piano?
