No, it should be CLICHÉ. The habit not to put accents on capital letters
came, as John said, from typewriters. With the coming of computer fonts,
accented capitals have been officially reintroduced. So nowadays, you
*must* type capitals with accents in French. In handwriting, accented
capitals are still optional though.
