Help, I can't Word doing this anymore!!

The Pilovese word for “and” is “i”. Everytime I type it in Word it
presumes that I want the letter to capitalize. I can’t stand this as I know
when I want it capitalized and when I don’t. This happens when I type a lower
case i for a roman numeral as well. Does anyone know how to tell it to stop? I
had thought about changing the default language, but it seems to still
capitalize the letter.
