And don't worry to much about apropriateness -- we talk about a lot of
things here. If it's even remotely about conlangs and languages,
you're quite safe! (On-topic stuff, yippie!) :-)
The introductory mail sent to you already contained the topics to
avoid, because they easily lead to insults and flame-wars: politics,
religion, and auxlang advocacy, with the advocacy part stressed: talk
about anything, but never insult others or tell them they have the
*wrong* opinion. The rules are to avoid pissing people off, that's
all.
Well, and I guess compared to the average crowd, we're quite behaved
and relaxed. IIRC, there was only one person I ever had to ban from
this list in several years of service now. So nothing much to fear
from our members. :-)
