I imagine that because the different qwerty variants are so similar,
you're more likely to get interference than with dvorak and qwerty. I
can touch-type on either, though I'm faster on dvorak (because I'm more
used to it), and make more mistakes with punctation on qwerty (like
typing W for comma). On the other hand, I keep mixing up R and L on
dvorak (the keys occupy the same places as the O and P keys on qwerty).
On the other hand, I try to avoid qwerty as much as I can because once
you've got used to dvorak, you realise it actually hurts.
