The Kasshi eat certain insects, primarily a type of beetle that is a
parasite on their major crop (a sunflower-like plant). I don't know
much about them, other than that the Blueshells are considered the
tastiest ...

The Kasshi consider flight sacred, and, as a result, it is taboo to harm
any flying creature. So, *eating* them would be only a little less
shocking than cannibalism.
