That's true for some symbols below 127... But that's yet another
encoding to learn :(... Moreover I have not found their Keyboard
Manager very useful. Personally I have written some (quick and
dirty) Tcl/Tk code to translate X-SAMPA ASCII reprensentation into
the SIL IPA encoding. So I just type in X-SAMPA, and copy/paste the
result into the target application. But my code does not handle all
the IPA characters, just those essential to me (i.e. a small subset
of X-SAMPA required for Almaqerin)...
