The consonants are vaguely like hieroglyphics. In a case of a
Semetic-style language, I think you'd have to call it a variant of a
logographic system, since each consonantal combo would represent a
word-stem. The vowel pattern symbol would be a kind of abstract
(ideo?)gram.
