I had nothing to do with the colors!  Just wanted to get that out there. :)

I think we had this discussion before and the end result was the b&w
version of David's pages.  But I must agree that the colors are bad.
And it's not all a matter of taste.
There are generally accepted guidelines for text coloration based on
what doesn't give people eyestrain headaches.  You can violate them
for very small amounts of text to achieve some other goal, but if it's
an informative page you really should stick to them.

In general, you want pale tones for backgrounds and dark foregrounds.
Stay away from bright colors. And never use blue for text - its the
color the human eye is the worst at seeing.

Somewhere on the web (yeah, Mark, that's helpful) I found a
handy-dandy webpage color scheme generator that would give you the hex
codes for several colors that would complement each other on a single
page...
