i'd add (13)mmrrrrow (aka the mournful howl of the Ringo cat), and
(14)mow and replace (1) with mrow (a shortened version of (13)) none
of my three friends of the feline persuasion has ever made a noise
that sounded like an actual 'meow' (or at least not that i've
witnessed)
(13) starts out quietly with the m's and the r's and then grows into
a wail by the ow part... similar to (2) in meaning...used to indicate
that he wants treats or food or just attention in general...
(14)Lady's version of (13) less of a howl and more like a plaintive
yet conversational* mow! mow! mow! used when she wants to be
petted...
*it often sounds like she's telling a story about her day, or maybe
i'm just hearing a story about her day...
