According to my hearing, the cat's "meow" is more like a rather nasal
[w&:U] than a "meow". At least in the case of a kitten I used to have.
(Very sadly, our out-of-control wild dog killed it out of jealousy. It was
bound to happen sooner or later, since the kitten for some reason just
insists on exploring the backyard, where the dog was confined, in spite of
all attempts to stop it from doing so.)
