Maybe. The English Dept here at BYU also offers a Tolkien class -- I gave a guest lecture on Tolkien's invented languages last Friday. I'm guessing that they'll teach the course again next year; the movies are good advertisement (though I think that they could fill the class every semester even without the movies). Oh, and the instructor is a medievalist who works on the linguistic aspects of Old English texts.
