(BTW, sorry I've taken a few days to respond to this--been too busy partying this weekend to write much e-mail) Wow, a compliment from the renowned creator of Teonaht. Thank you very much! Yivríndil is a several-year-old artlang and fictional lang of mine, and I've tried very hard to make it sound beautiful and lyrical, according to my aesthetic values. Here's a short sample: Hara eyi natala hatillu, ta niéton al nayyaas Yivrindil. Hara eyi na-tala hatil-lu, ta niét-on al nayya-as Yivríndil. Beauty is that-virtue high-SUP, and this-INSTR I make-PERF Yivrindil. "Beauty is the highest virtue, and by this I have made Yivrindil." a = [a] e = [E], [e] final i = [I], [i] final o = [o] u = [u] é = [e] í = [i] r = [r], flapped intervocalically y = [j] yy = IPA symbol hook-tail z, a voiced palato-alveolar fricative All other sounds more or less as their IPA symbols. Stress is generally on the penultimate syllable.
