Good. My question too. Supposedly the reason we Northerners start in
September, is so that the kids were free to help with work in the fields,
when we were still an agricultural economy. I'd assume that in the far
Southern Hemi. they would have started in March, but maybe the colonists
just brought their Northern system with them.
In Indonesia, where there's only a wet and dry season, school began
in....late August or so and ended in late May. Probably an import of the
Dutch/European system.
