Indeed. Ah, those days at Michigan. Pike's supposed charisma somehow
left me cold. Alton (Pete) _Becker_ (sorry to nitpick), his student but
not disciple, was a thorough delight, and one of the reasons I got into
Indonesian/SE Asia. I recall a very nice poem of his, about an abandoned
temple in Java-- the inner sanctum was an empty room.
Are these really a team? Such wildly different styles, both fascinating--
