Google found a page on zompist.com (http://www.zompist.com/families.htm) that lists the numeric systems of different languages and families, and mentions that Northern Pame (a Oto-Manguean language) is consistantly base-8 as well. Any more details on either Chinook or Pame? :Peter -- Oh what a tangled web they weave who try a new word to conceive!
