I'm new to the list, but heres my opinion:
Recently, i started out inventing a personal language (Sakatda Ka
Kadomo).
Its basically being based somewhat off of Tagalog (the grammar, and a lot
of the words).
So, it really doesn't have a culture of its own. However, i have been
thinking about
creating one for it to give it some interest. I was thinking about making
the culture kind
of like a pre-hispanic type tribal culture that i have read about in
books on Philippine History.
I think that a conculture does give more interest to a language, and
obviously doesn't hurt to
have, but i dont think its really necessary, especially if the language is
just for you personally.
