In the notes for the "Language, Sex, and Gender" class i took last
semester i used a variety of symbols instead of having to write "man",
"woman", "male", "female", etc. over and over again.
For "male", "man", etc., i used:
1. the 'Mars' male sign
2. the Chinese 'male' character
3. the Rokbeigalmki letter |o| from the male prefix |o-|
For "female", "woman", etc., i used:
1. the 'Venus' female sign
2. the Chinese 'female' character
3. the Rokbeigalmki letter |i| from the female prefix |i-|
At least i think the kanji i used are used the same way in Chinese. I
used the ones used in Japanese for the first part in each of |otoko no
hito| and |onna no hito|.
I also used the kanji for "language" sometimes because even though it may
have taken longer than writing "language", it was more fun to write :) .
