This is Ladefoged's term for a stop that is released by opening the
nasal rather than the oral passage, which is how I pronounce "button"
and friends.
As far as I can make out, there is a simultaneous velar and alveolar
closure, and then I release the velar closure through the nose while
keeping the alveolar closure unreleased.
