Children's Shows and Conlangs

I was just babysitting, and the kid was watching an old cartoon called
David the Gnome, it used to be on Nickelodeon about 10 years ago. At
the end, I noticed that David says goodbye in his "gnome language." The
word is <slitzweitz>, pronounced /Slitsvaits/, and I was just curious,
is this a word in some little-known natlang, or is it a one-word conlang
made up for the show? I really like the way it looks and sounds and am
considering building a language (sketch) out of it.
