It does exist between the Scandinavian languages, which are mutually
intelligible at least in writing, but where the man-in-the-street tends to
regard the others as aberrations from his own. The same applies, in my sad
experience, between dialects/regional pronunciations of Swedish, where
contempt and ridicule towards those speaking differently is all too common.
