Tip: make sure the helplines are in a different color than the color of
the pen you use. Black pen, blue lines for instance. That way you can
select and remove the helplines real easy. If the pen isn't black you
can make the text black/white or grayscale at the end, thus making the
text look black and crisp. Might even be easier to compress (png) that
way, meaning you'll save a little space.
