I've done both, although I tend to prefer to make words first
and then translate later. I tend to relex English less that
way. Of course, for me it's usually faster to have to translate
a text.

Case in point: my text for ýýlheema‘ék came together
relatively quickly because I had the English version first.

However, in my current project--āseka‘eni--I am trying to create
the necessary vocabulary and grammar first before I try to
translate anything.
