Hello,

Truly so.

Not really. Though we did find some snow in the tundra. Playing snowballs while cursing the mosqutoes is a most, mm, rare experience :-)

Yes :-)

Well, we went to a different Nenetsland :-) Nenets is spoken in three regions of Russia: the Nenets Autonomous District (where we went), where there's only some oil in the east, but just some, the Yamal Nenets AD (where the gas is, it is quite rich) and the Tajmyr AD (where the nickel is, also quite rich around Noril'sk, but very poor elsewhere).

Quite a lot. It is on the decline in the European parts, but still we hadn't much trouble with finding informants. It is one of the healthier minority languages in Russia. Tapani Salminen assesses the speaker amount at about 25 thousand
