Not so much Trekkies, but Klingonists. Most Klingonists are Trekkies,
but the overlap is a very very small subset of Trekkiedom.
Klingon conversation is not just a rumor, as I have observed the
phenomenon, but it's rather rare, as very few people are sufficiently
proficient in tlhIngan Hol to carry on a conversation. Captain
Krankor is probably the most fluent speaker... (Okrand doesn't
actually speak the language he created, which will of course not seem
as oxymoronic in this crowd as it does to the general public...)
