the line alignment is i would guess a case of making all the images the
same height, and making sure the character baseline falls in the same
place for each. possible, but maybe a bit of a fiddle.
would make it quite clear that 'p' isn't a capital tho . . ..

It works equally well for me, either as "alt" or "title"......

Very nicely done, and I'm sure it will be useful. Some observations,
meant as _constructive_ criticism--
1. It is, as you say, incomplete. I note the lack of the front rounded
vowels, epsilon (E), reversed epsilon and its retroflex (3, 3^), print a
(a), script a (A), reverse script a(?) (Q)?, barred i (1), inverted v
(V); I'm not sure of the SAMPA for palatal stops IPA c, j, lateral
affricate i.e
[tl]-- IPA lambda? or barred lambda? (and voiced); voiced velar
fricative (gamma), uvular stop q, glottal stop, etc. etc. Do you plan
to include these at a later date?
2. There seems to be a problem with "eng", "p" and "g"; is there some
way to make them sit on the line?
