That seems to raise as many problems as it solves, given the two patterns into which, I think, all dialects fall: I. II. faff faf faf staff staaf staf scarf skaaf skarf If I understand correctly, your system chooses (II) and so leaves (I) speakers out on a limb with BATH/STAFF words. My system had: I. II. faff faf faf staff staaf staf scarf skarf skarf father faaðr faaðr ... but I'm thinking of revising it to: I. II. faff faf faf staff starf staf scarf skarf skarf father farðr faðr --And.
