I had the same problem with a teacher who misread my last name as GRANASIER
instead of GRANDSIRE. I had written it in capital letters though... Oh well, I
don't like that man anyway, so why should I care...

Narbonósc is more liberal than French in that respect as it allows alternative
orthographies for many words (mostly borrowings or learned words from Latin or
Greek, but also for words with tilde like mãg or nõ which can be written mang or
non). Only one orthography is standard though, the other ones are simply
tolerated.
