I've been trying to remember my Irish to help out a little here. Irish
would use a clause to do this too.
Chonaic me bean go raibh ag siul abaile go tapaidh.
I saw a woman that was walking home quickly.
An Irish speaker might also put it this way:
Chonaic me bean ~agus~ bhi si ag siul abhaile go tapaidh
I saw a woman and she was walking home quickly
