Ah hah. I responded to Jan's response to yours without seeing the original. Ki Kristofer Rait tor s'ki spac'ais':

And so you shall... This will make for a long message, but I thought I would post the song as-is, then the interlinear, then the excuses. Old England-GEN lord-PL all OBJ Portmore not buy-3p.HYP. Excuses: (1) Rhean prefers to render foreign names as close as possible to the native pronunciation, rather than translate or "Rheicise" them. (2) Vocative particle |a|: you've seen this before... (3) Object particle is omitted in SOV construction, except for special emphasis. It is used here because the object "the destruction of ..." follows the verb "to see". Out-of-place subjects and objects are marked |ai| and |o| respectively. (4) A noun in the genitive can precede OR follow the noun it modifies. Weird eh. (5) The |ver| actually applies to |lööseku| here. |Ver ... lööseku| means "in order to remove ..." In Rhean, a preposition and the word to which it applies can become seperated by several other words. Seperation by too many words, while still grammatically correct, is considered bad style and a different construction should be used. (6) |ba| is often used to end an "if" or "when" clause. (7) "With me there exists ... " means "I have ..." A lot of languages do this, or somethng similar. (8) Hypothetical mood: something WOULD be, or WOULD HAVE been. Talking about something which did not happen or does not necessarily happen, but speculating on what would happen. A bit complex. I may post something describing the uses of this form. (9) The only word I had for "bitter" refers to the flavour. (10) Rhean actually doesn't have seperate words for "sleep" and "slumber"! Go figure THAT out! (11) Bastard term, actually meaning "ash-tree", "ash" as in ash from fire. Not a real Rhean word. (12) |Portmor tai lunde| "Portmore its walls" means the same as "Portmore's walls". This construction is favoured over the genitive when the posessor is a proper name. I didn't use this with "England" |Inglanda k'rui| --> |Ingland tai k'rui| because I wanted to demonstrate both. Well there you go. This is how Rhean mangles that song.
