I guess I have to start by making a word for artlanger. yaster "to create/design" certainly carries with it an air of artistry, so ninda yaster "to create language(s)" will do fine for a start. that makes a total of three roots, nin "communication", ya "air" and ast "essence", plus the remnants of a fourth, which makes me unwilling to make a shortened compound. instead, I think I will use the associative: ninda so yasterna "creator of language(s)" nind -a so yast -erna N.language IND ASSOC V.create NOM.AGT according to the dictionary, the relevant meanings of scum are 1. a layer of dirt or impurities, 2. a worthless person. so maybe móre "impure, dirty" will do for now. at last we arrive at a working sentence: dóno e mórele ninda so yasterna! dón -o e mór -ele ... V.die IMP , A.impure SUP ... "die, [you] most impure creator of languages!" wee, I just made my first insult! and took part in my first translation exercise! though the result unfortunately lacks the crudeness of the original. explicit insults are not my cup of tea. Note: the pagans among us will no doubt guess why 'artistic creation' is derived as 'essence of air'. --- Camilla "ana de esse limine ninda yastiar"
