Indeed! I did a similar thing. Since I am still (partly, at least) living in
the Stone Age, I have my Indo-European roots database in dBase III+, which
means that I had to do everything with ASCII. As a result, the whole stuff
became much better readable.
Question: how do you handle IE palatals (k', g' etc.)?
