It appears that rivvel or rivel is related to PA German riwwel meaning "to rub,
grate, or crumble" (which is what the noodles look like...crumbled dough).

Ah! The first two cognate to standard German "rutschen" (to slide) and
"schusselig" (ditzy, clumsy, klutzy), I suppose? I can't figure out
the third one, though.
