Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales. Lots of fun, though some are
definitely better than the others. One of my other favourites is "The
Marsh King's Daughter" (at that time a lot of the Christian allegory went
flat over my head, though) even though few people seem to have heard of
it. :-p
